Your space should feel like a true reflection of you, your lifestyle, or your brand — elevated, cohesive, and thoughtfully designed. Whether you're transforming a home, retail environment, salon, spa, or commercial space, our turn-key process takes you from dull and disconnected to beautifully curated interiors without the stress, decision fatigue, or day-today work of managing it yourself.
Our formally trained designers have a passion for transforming spaces, much construction administration experience, and logistics coordination to handle every detail behind the scenes — so the only thing left for you to do is enjoy the result.
We transform spaces from dull to your dream without the fuss. LUSH interior design LLC is a creative interior design firm conceived out of a passion for design and remodeling projects, delving into the complexity of construction sites, and the desire to make spaces more beautiful for our clients. Our clients range from multi-family residential associations and property managers, to high net-worth jet setters with multiple homes, retail shops, and commercial interior tenants and brokers. Our interior designers are formally trained and educated. They stay up on design trends and topics via industry publications,
visits to trade shows, and taking part in continuing education opportunities.
I'm Emilie Kyle, a NCIDQ Certified
Professional Interior Designer and
earned my professional certification and passed the LEED exam, 2009. I have a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design. Having worked at nationally ranked firms, I gained experience with hospitality and retail projects, regional and federal agencies, various defense contractors, as well as commercial tenant layouts, so I'm well-equipped to handle almost any sized project. I opened Lush Interior Design in 2014.
When it comes to my style, I lean toward clean lines, but also love the warmth of a traditional space, and of course love to juxtapose styles when appropriate. I believe in strategic use of color and pattern, and I have a great eye for art. If you don't "have a style," don't worry. Cultivating and further developing your style is one of my superpowers.
I enjoy walks by the river, travel, cooking, hanging by a fire or in the pool, and will go anywhere to taste great wine.
I live in Alexandria with my husband, and French Bulldog, Pénélope.

Pénélope joined Lush six years ago as an intern, and has grown into an essential part of the team. She has unbounded enthusiasm when greeted. She might bring her ball or her rope to play with. When she’s not getting belly rubs, walks or giving snuggles, she takes long naps under Emilie’s desk.
