Trending right now are agate and malachite gemstones, as well as geodes. We’ve seen these everywhere, and we love it! From entire bathroom walls adorned with giant installations to cabinet pulls, these materials do a rockin’ job of accessorizing homes. So, what are they exactly? Well, an agate is a variegated chalcedony semi-precious gemstone, often coexisting with onyx and opal. Quartz crystals are sometimes incorporated into the stone, adding to its sparkly character. Malachite is a copper carbonate hydroxide mineral with varied green bands reminiscent of radiating water ripples. Geodes are known for being round and halved with beautiful quartz crystals inside.
