Like you, we’ll be taking a bit of a break later this week to spend with our families. With so many things already on your “must complete before Thursday” list, we’re coming to your “dinner wine decision” rescue. From teetotaler to sommelier, our reviewed list of delicious wines will take one more thing off your list with a quick stop by the store. For the holiday, we’ve selected American wines, two of which are from Virginia! All come in under $20, and we’ve included a bonus under $10 to boot! Cheers!

Muirwood Chardonnay Reserve Santa Lucia $17 from Total Wine
Muirwood’s regular Chardonnay has been voted a #1 favorite by Total Wine consumers, but this one, this one, is so much better. It’s worth shelling out the extra $3 for the delightful experience (and is currently $2 off through Thanksgiving!!). This medium-bodied Chardonnay is buttery and has tropical notes with vanilla aromatics, so it will pair well with poultry, like your turkey.

Trump Rosé Charlottesville, Virginia $11, Total Wine
Our local Total Wine carries many Virginia wines, so even if you can’t get out to visit the (over 200!!) wineries, you can still try several that may turn into favorites. Chilled, this tasty, dry rosé has a light strawberry nose.

Norton, Horton Tower Series $14, Total Wine
This medium, plummy wine holds up to a heavy meal or on its own. It’s a love-it-or-leave-it varietal derived from the Norton grape, which has been hailed as the “real American grape” and was first cultivated in Richmond, Virginia.

Bonus selection! Black Mountain Pinot Noir $7, sold exclusively at Trader Joe’s
This has been my go-to red wine since its 2007 vintage. A light-bodied red, this easy-drinking wine goes perfectly with turkey and is light enough to leave room for pie!
Intended for readers over 21 years old. Drink responsibly.
